One Room Challenge – Week 3

Week 3 of the One Room Challenge was hard for me because it was ‘not part of the plan’. We were unhappy with the outcome of last week so we fixed it this week. It ultimately set us back a week but I have no doubt we can make up for it.

Go check out the One Room Challenge Blog here. There are so many talented designers participating this fall.

This week we spent a lot of time staring at the room, and talking about the room, and planning for the brick and staring at the room some more.

Last week we installed board and batten on the large feature wall and the wall that houses our TV. We have an open space that combines our kitchen, eating table and living room. Our thought was it would define the living space and separate it from the kitchen. It was apparent the day after the installation was done, that it did not define the space and instead looked awkward and half finished.

So this week, instead of starting on the brick, we hung board and batten around the rest of this large room. It was much more than we planned on doing but it was totally necessary. Now the room look complete and cohesive.

The biggest challenge with moving the 55 gallon fish tank in the corner. We had to drain it and refill it.

Next week we will paint and start prepping for the brick.

Stay tuned!

Ann
