One Room Challenge – Week 4

How is it Week 4 already? How are we halfway through this challenge? When we started 8 weeks seemed like a lifetime, now is seems like a week. Holy Moley. Well, the good news is we were able to make some substantial progress this past week. The bad news is, next week we are going to have another setback to overcome.

Go check out the One Room Challenge Blog here. There are so many talented designers participating this fall.

We were able to prep and paint the board and batten this week. I was even able to do complete a large portion of the caulking and finish work after painting. It was a very successful week.

We opted to use the paint sprayer for the walls. This meant a lot more prep but it was totally worth it.

The paint we chose was Behr Marquee Satin in Frost. It is GORGEOUS! It may be my new favorite white.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, we have another hurdle this week. We originally thought that we would just apply to bricks to the drywall since we have ‘green’ drywall. We have reconsidered and decided to apply cement board on top of the drywall before starting on the brick. We are concerned about the weight of the bricks AND about how often I change my mind. 🙂 In 4 years if we do now want the brick anymore, we would like to be able to take it down without replacing on the drywall. The thought of retexturing and painting is way scarier to me than hanging the cement board.

See you next week!

Ann
