Week 6 was brick laying week!!!! It was the week I have been waiting for. Brick laying would have been week 2 if we had found enough brick and didn’t need the board and batten. But, alas, good things come to those who wait. And oh man, is it good.

I adore the brick. It is exactly how I pictured it in my head. The biggest challenge was making sure we had enough brick. We did not have ‘15%’ overage like recommended. In fact, we didn’t even have 1% overage. So we needed to map everything out and make absolutely certain our pattern would work before starting.
This week we were able to lay all the brick. Did we have enough? What pattern did we choose? Well I will tell you this. We did NOT have enough. We were 32 bricks short. We did, however, find a solution that worked well and I am happy with the outcome. No, I will not tell you or show you the pattern just yet. You will have to wait until final reveal. Next week we grout.
